Even though the latest edition to our family has been getting a lot of attention, I have not forgotten about our "Bubby", as we call him. I don't quite know why we started calling him that, but it sure stuck!
Garrison is very smart and sweet, and loves reading books with me. He is starting to really talk. For example, some words he uses often are: peek-a-boo, up, hungry, I want that/this, thank you, daddy, mommy, night night, shoes, hello, and bye bye. He also is starting to respond to my threats to put him in "time out", for which I am grateful!
Garrison is also VERY spoiled by his daddy-- right down to making sure no other kid is taking his toy. The other night we were at our ward building for an activity and another (older, bigger kid) took the toy Garrison was playing with. Marcus practically tackled him to the ground, scolded him, and stole it back for Garrison! I told Marcus there is an unwritten rule among mothers (from what I have noticed) that whatever the problem there may be between 2 children, it is always your child's fault. For example, in this situation, the proper thing to do would be to immediately tell Garrison to share and say to the other mother "Oh, it's not all his fault, Garrison really needs to learn to share." Marcus thought that this method of handling things is nuts!

Introducing: Lorelei Anne Wilkerson
Lorelei Anne Wilkerson: born September 2nd, 2007 at 5:39 a.m. We are also calling her Lily. She is a very patient, content baby, and still sleeps most of the day. She seems to love Garrison, her big brother, even though sometimes he is a bit rough with her. The first thing most people say when they see her is "wow, she has a lot of hair!"
She was blessed at our home in Kansas City, Missouri. It was a beautiful blessing and afterward John, Marcus's brother, read a little something he had written for Lorelei. Like the blessing, it is very beautiful as well, so I would like to share it with you. It is impossible to describe the feeling that comes over you when you first see your baby. It is an overwhelming love that just sweeps over you, but I think John's words come pretty close.

"Her fragile fingertips and expressions of wonderment reach gently into a world so much in love with her. Lorelei, mythical siren, enchantress and ancient beauty, has captured our perfect devotion. Quietly, her's is a wolrd of contrast, of adoring noises and trepid forehead kisses, of forever families who always remember best when to love.
With glistening eyes she blinks at our paper-thin universe of change and movement. She holds within her an understanding so vast, so innocent and so much what those who cling to her are in search of. For a moment, one shimmering instant of clarity and purpose, she reminds us of the role we play in the infinite; of our part in all that exists above and within us.
She swells in steady, hopeful breaths of a new world. We look to her, this tiny example of simple reverence and divine virtue. We draw in her newness, the greatness of it all; the terror of its tenuous course and the boldness of a spirit who will dance toward it. And when she rests her knowing eyes upon us, the fullness of a thousand universes erupts in pleading harmonies of want.
We hope for her, a world of experience, of growth and strength; of gentility and grace, of wisdom and compassion, of cherished moments and strength of thought. We hope for mercy and wonder, faith and togetherness. But mostly for our precious Lorelei Anne, we wish love as strong, as pure, as effortless as the love we have for her."
